The Pasona building in central Tokyo is nine storeys high structure incorprating an urban farm where all of the food grown inside is harvested, prepared and served on-site in the cafeterias. The employees are encouraged to look after the vegetables and plants, which are on every floor and in social and public areas.
The Pasona company is headquartered in the Ōtemachi district of Tokyo, and is the second-largest staffing company in Japan
Employees are taught to be actively engaged with the farming through both a visual intervention in their busy lifestyle and educational programs focusing on farming methods and practices that are common in Japan. There are also eduicational boards and publicity about sustainability and environmental issues on the ground floor.
