The Durbar Fantasia, is the moment where The Husa residents of Kano wear traditional dress, their local leaders and chiefs mount horses, and together with their militias display allegiance and homage to their leader, the Emir of Kano. This takes place after Ramadan. The Emir is Kano's State official political and economic feudal leader, everyone seeks to be in his pleasure, otherwise they reap the consequences..Kano is the largest Muslim Husa city, under the feudal, political and economic rule of the Emir. Kano and the other eleven northern states are under Islamic Sharia Law which is enforced by official state apparatus including military and police, Islamic schools and education, plus various volunteer Militia groups supported financially and politically by the Emir and other business and political bodies. 70% of the population live below the poverty line.
