Meshkah Tawfik, an arab princess, who lives in London, is suing her former husband Sheikh Hamad bin Jasim Al Thani, of the Qatari Royal Family for a share of the oil fortunes of one of the richest royal families in the world. Meshkah Tawfik, who is 40 years old, married the sheikh at an Islamic ceremony in London in 1991. The Sheikh was educated at Sandhurst Military Academy and is said to be worth £800 million pounds. These legal proceedings are a significant test of 'forum-shopping' - the use of the British courts to settle foreign divorces.
