Recycling worker, Phnom Penh. Woman pulling trolley packed with cardboard, aluminium drink cans, plastic bottles she has collected on the streets and bought on the sidewalk. Like many rural peasants who have left the countryside in search of earning a decent living, she ended up as recycling worker on Phnom Penh's city streets. They earn a few dollars a day from selling by weight the plastic bottles, aluminium cans and cardboard they collect during a days work. Usually they work from the mid afternoon until midnight, sorting through the rubbish on the streets. They take what they collect to small sorting houses on the edge of the city.
