An organisation based upon creating economic self-empowerment and sustainable development initiatives, and self-sufficiency, for communities in the rural desert of Rajasthan, India. Energy autonomy with solar power capacitors, parabolic mirrors for cooking, solar powered water heating, and battery lanterns. Freshwater and irrigation through wells and desalination. A multitude of other economic initiatives run by grassroots Indian people, mainly women, where those who participate in, run the projects themselves. Many of them local lower castes, some physically handicapped, most with no paper qualifications, with support from others who gave up high flying money-making careers to be involved in working with poor rural communities. Mico-industries include solar lanterns, electric circuitry and lighting, crafts, textiles, children's toys, and sanitary towels. Also much emphasis on local and oral communications, radio, and puppetry. Now recognised internationally providing an educational resource most often directed towards communities of rural women worldwide.
