The Emir is Kano's State official political and economic feudal leader, everyone seeks to be in his pleasure, otherwise they reap the consequences..Kano is the largest Muslim Husa city, under the feudal, political and economic rule of the Emir. Kano and the other eleven northern states are under Islamic Sharia Law which is enforced by official state apparatus including military and police, Islamic schools and education, plus various volunteer Militia groups supported financially and politically by the Emir and other business and political bodies. 70% of the population live below the poverty line.
